Ok...so I've been terrible about writing posts this year. I'm not sure if it's that I've just been that busy or if all of the craziness with work has just exhausted me and I haven't had the desire to write. Whichever it may be, I will make every effort to be better about writing.
Quite a lot has been happening. I mentioned the chaos at work...between Congressional inability to pass a budget which threatens a furlough for federal employees and my Command having to cut 30-50% of its personnel by next March...all of this means stress that we might be living without a paycheck for awhile if there's a furlough and the potential unemployment means that I'm looking for another job. Not that I'm opposed to finding another job since I haven't been happy at the WAC for the past year...but the timing is bad. Wil still has 1 1/2 years on his tour at Dahlgren and then we need to be someplace where we can both work and still live together. There is of course the risk that I'll have to take a job back in DC...not really what I want to do...this means that we'll have to sell our house and will probably rent until Wil retires and we know where we want to live long term. At this point, I'm hoping for Charlottesville, VA.
So with all of this I haven't been sleeping well...add in my already unhappiness with my work environment and frankly it just seems like a miserable time right now. But I'm sure all will work out as it should and we'll get through this stressful patch.
Little man is also sick...so I've now missed 3 days of work...seems like as soon as I build up some leave...I end up using it...argh. So far today he's been much better...no more non-stop screaming as it had been for the past 2 days. So, the week is already looking up for me.
