One giant leap

It's amazing how far Grayson as come since those first steps on his own.  Over the past 2 weeks, we've watched him go from a few wobbly steps and a preference for crawling to much steadier walking all over the place, standing up without holding on, and a preference for walking over crawling. It's been an amazing transition. Perhaps a little scary too. We may never sit down again.

ICE, ICE Baby...too cold...too cold

Not quite Vanilla Ice...more like Green Ice. Grinchy Green Ice to be more specific.  After hearing wonderful things about the Gaylord Resort's ICE display at National Harbor, we made the trip up to the city.  After figuring out where to park, we decided to grab some lunch.  Unfortunately since we decided to head up on New Year's Day, not too many places were open. We ended up having lunch at the sports bar at the Gaylord, which left much to be desired.  A bit pricey and the food was mediocre at best.

Because we had timed tickets to the ICE exhibit, we didn't get to do much exploring in the Gaylord Atrium which is where the train ride was and the giant Christmas tree. Maybe next year.

We headed over to ICE, which was a pavilion filled with scenes from the Grinch all carved out of ice. The pavilion was only 9 degrees inside so we all had to wear these lovely blue parkas that they give you when you walk in. And it was cold, but well worth the trip.
