Ready for Spring...

It's hard to believe that it was just a few weeks ago that we had several inches of snow...by the weekend it was in the 70s...and while it's rainy and dreary today...the springy weather definitely put me in the mood for a little change.

The easiest way to get in the mood for spring/summer even though the weather wasn't accomodating seemed to be to do some redecorating. I opted for redecorating 3 rooms. I guess it wasn't really redecorating, but changing out linens...it's amazing how much of a difference those little difference can make.

The rooms I chose were the dining room, the kitchen, and our bedroom. The dining room may be my favorite change because it seems to be the most dramatic.
But I also love the change in the bedroom...both rooms look so much lighter.
The kitchen isn't as much of a difference, but I still think it looks good. It may require a bit more work...but it's a good start.

Snow Day!

That's right...we got it...a snow day! And even better, we all got it. Jon-Christian's school was closed...my work was closed...and Wil didn't have to go into work either! So, it was a fun-filled family day...including clearing the driveway

sledding by the river
playing fetch
and taking pictures
ah...now, this was a good day!

Happy Birthday Theresa!

Happy birthday to you...
Happy birthday to you...
Happy birthday, dear Theresa...
Happy birthday to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok...so, this is "exactly" Theresa on her birthday,
but it is her daughter on her 1st birthday...

Snow

It seems that in recent years, we don't get as much snow as I remember as a child. It could be my memory (after all, Disney World seemed a lot bigger when I was a child than it does now)...or it could simply be that Virginia doesn't get as much snow as Indiana. I am, thus, out of practice. I am out of practice driving in the snow and ice...I am out of practice tolerating the cold...

One thing that hasn't changed since I was a child...even with a little snow...the same emotions and thoughts come rushing back...do you think school (or now...work) will be closed tomorrow? With of course, the hope that the answer will be yes...and waiting...and watching the news...or the internet for the hopes that you'll see the magic words...that your school/work is closed tomorrow. Ah...it doesn't get better than the hope and anticipation of a snow day...

I will sit here with my fingers crossed...watching...waiting...hoping that, yes...we will have a snow day! I'll even settle for a delay...but would prefer the whole day....
